THE AHVLA has issued an invitation to tender for the supply of a ‘flexible package of taxpayer-funded veterinary services’, including tuberculin testing.
The agency is seeking delivery partners in seven geographical lots covering England and Wales. The tender period will run until September 9. The AHVLA anticipates that contracts will be awarded towards the end of this year and that successful suppliers will begin to deliver services from April next year. Contracts will initially be awarded for a three-year period, with the option to extend for up to a further two years. Until the new arrangements begin, the existing way of working will continue, the AHVLA says.
Additional services expected to be supplied by the delivery partners include other Official Veterinarian (OV) and veterinary services, such as brucellosis, abortion and anthrax investigations and blood sampling and tuberculin testing of non-bovine animals.
