IN 2004, the Rural Economy and Land Use (RELU) research programme began funding a range of projects focusing on key issues affecting rural Britain. RELU was unique in that it demanded researchers combine perspectives from different disciplines to better understand problems and develop more effective solutions. One of these projects focused on the governance of livestock disease and in this new book John McEldowney and colleagues provide an insight into the key lessons of analysing animal disease from an interdisciplinarity perspective.
