Survey suggests an appetite for training in surveillance skills

THERE is an appetite among members of the veterinary profession for training in diagnostic investigation and pathology skills, according to the results of an AHVLA survey.

The survey was conducted earlier this year by the AHVLA in collaboration with the universities of Surrey, Bristol, Aberystwyth, Cambridge, Nottingham and Liverpool, and with the Royal Veterinary College, Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) and the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath). It aimed to evaluate private veterinary surgeons' previous experience of carrying out postmortem examinations and their experience of relevant CPD, as well as to find out what their preferred style of CPD would be and how much they would expect to pay for their CPD.
