A PILOT scheme to regulate online pet sales has led to the removal of more than 100,000 inappropriate, misleading or illegal adverts in just six months.
The pilot scheme was initiated by the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG), which describes it as having been ‘hugely successful’. The group says that the number of adverts removed shows the level of commitment given by the participating websites to improving animal welfare and also demonstrates how cooperation between the PAAG and online classified websites can make a difference to the welfare of pets and the protection of consumers.
