Hounds for Heroes founder wins standing ovation

The keynote speaker at this year's BVA Members' Day was Allen Parton, founder of the charity Hounds for Heroes, which trains assistance dogs for disabled service personnel and members of the civilian emergency services in the UK. He was inspired to create the charity following his experiences with Endal, an assistance dog.

Mr Parton, a former weapons electrical engineer in the Royal Navy, had volunteered for the first Gulf War in 1991.
