IN addition to addressing the pertinent questions on livestock production and wildlife management raised by Neil Howie (VR, July 12, 2014, vol 175, p 52), perhaps Abraham and others (VR, June 28, 2014, vol 174, pp 664-666) would like to reconcile their rejection of badger culling as a strategy for controlling bovine TB with the fact that the five badger culling trials in England and Ireland, before the Randomised Badger Culling Trials in 1998-2005, all produced a dramatic and sustained reduction of the disease in cattle.
