ON the basis of analysis by the Epidemiology Unit at Weybridge of the TB99 disease investigation reports 1986 to 1995, the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) declared in 1995 that 90 per cent of new herd incidents were considered to be of badger origin (Clifton-Hadley and others 1995, MAFF 1995).
