DEN Leonard (VR, May 24, 2014, vol 174, pp 535-536) makes a compelling case in support of the BVA's comprehensive policy on bovine TB and we can fully understand his frustration over the way the issue is communicated by the mainstream media.

With the support of the British Cattle Veterinary Association, the BVA has consistently made the case for the targeted, humane culling of badgers to be part of the Government's overall TB eradication strategy, both in England and in Wales. We firmly believe that a comprehensive approach, employing all of the available tools, is the only way we will be able to eradicate the disease rather than simply maintaining or controlling it.
