£10 million grant for pig and poultry research

A CONSORTIUM led by Newcastle University has been awarded e11.9 million (more than £10 million) by the European Union to identify new solutions to reconcile modern pig and poultry production systems with sustainability. The university says that the grant is the largest ever made by the EU in the field of animal health.
