Cat-to-human transmission of bovine TB: risk to public ‘very low’

TWO people were identified as having caught TB from cats during investigations into the cluster of cases of bovine TB in cats described in a short communication published in Veterinary Record last week. The short communication described how seven confirmed cases of Mycobacterium bovis in cats were seen by a veterinary practice in Newbury in Berkshire between September 2012 and March 3013, with another two cases being suspected (Roberts and others 2014).
