A BILL to create a new public body to replace the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) in Scotland was introduced into the Scottish Parliament on March 14.
The Food (Scotland) Bill provides for the establishment of Food Standards Scotland (FSS) to take over the functions currently carried out in Scotland by the FSA. It also allows for the scope of FSS's functions to be widened beyond the FSA's current remit and establishes new enforcement arrangements.
