FOLLOWING a complete absence of female candidates in last year's elections to the RCVS Council, the RCVS has announced that more women than men will be standing this year.
In total, 19 candidates have put themselves forward – nine men and 10 women. The RCVS believes that the number of candidates standing is the highest since records began. Also, it says, the candidates are younger than usual. The average age of all elected RCVS Council members in March 2013 was 56.5 years (57 for women and 56 for men) whereas this year, the average age of the candidates is 47 …
