Vets urged to be partners in sustainable development

Statistics from

VETERINARIANS attending the 15th Commonwealth Veterinary Association (CVA) Australasia/Oceania regional conference in Fiji this week were urged to be ‘not just partners in the profession but to be partners in sustainable development as well’.

The call came from Inia Seruiratu, Fiji's minister for agriculture, fisheries and forests, in a speech to the 150 delegates from 20 countries who gathered in Nadi on Fiji from September 2 to 6. The theme of the meeting was ‘Sustainable animal health and production – the role of veterinary education, disease control, food safety and security and animal welfare’.
