Scottish farmers warned against complacency on SBV

LIVESTOCK farmers in Scotland are being warned not to be complacent about the threat of Schmallenberg virus (SBV) in their flocks and herds, despite surveillance continuing to suggest lower than expected levels of activity across Scotland.

The warning comes from the NFU Scotland, which, in conjunction with Scotland's Rural College and the laboratory Biobest, has been monitoring a network of dairy farms across the country for the presence of the virus in their bulk milk.
