IN further tribute to Peter George Hignett (VR, September 7, 2013, vol 173, p 223), Ronald S. Jones writes: Peter Hignett was born into a Shropshire farming family and qualified from the Liverpool veterinary school in 1947.
After a period in general practice, he joined the Wellcome research organisation at Frant and worked alongside his brother, Sam. He then moved to the University of Glasgow, where he had responsibility for veterinary reproduction.
