THE pilot cull of badgers in Somerset has been extended for three weeks after Natural England confirmed that the criteria had been met for the cull to continue under licence.
Natural England said in a press release on October 11 that during the original six-week culling period 850 badgers had been killed. Under the new licence, a minimum of 165 badgers must be killed, with a maximum of 282.
