THE Veterinary Medicines Directorate has updated its guidance on advertising veterinary medicines to reflect changes that come into force on October 1. The updated guidance, which is provided in a ‘frequently asked question’ (FAQ) document on the VMD's website, takes account of new rules on advertising antimicrobial products which mean that, from the beginning of next month, antimicrobials can no longer be advertised to farmers. It also reflects changes prohibiting the advertising of POM-VPS products to owners or keepers of horses.
