Vet ordered to be struck off for failing to promptly attend an injured dog

A VETERINARY surgeon who failed to promptly attend a dog that had been run over at a farm has been found guilty of unreasonable delay and causing the dog unnecessary suffering by the RCVS Disciplinary Committee, which directed that his name should be removed from the RCVS Register.

During a two-day hearing on June 17 and 18, the committee heard that Munhuwepasi Chikosi had been working as a locum veterinary surgeon at an out-of-hours emergency clinic in Barton-le-Clay, Bedford, at the time of the incident in September 2011.
