FEBRUARY 12 saw the first meeting of the BVA's Northern Ireland Branch in Belfast and the election of its officer team. Sandra Dunbar, a veterinary surgeon working for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), was unanimously elected as president, while Pat Hart, a small animal practitioner at the Cedar Grove practice in Belfast, became president-elect and Jean Wales, who also works for DARD, became honorary secretary.
