Rabies mission ready to roll

THE Mission Rabies all-terrain, self-sufficient mobile veterinary hospital, which was introduced to the veterinary profession at the BSAVA congress in Birmingham in April, is now fully fitted and ready to begin its journey to India.

Mission Rabies is the initiative of vet Luke Gamble, and is being organised through his charity Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS). The mission aims to vaccinate 50,000 street dogs in 10 rabies hotspots in India in September this year, culminating on World Rabies Day on September 28 (VR, April 20, 2013, vol 172, p 413).
