THE BVA has welcomed the publication of a draft Bill that could introduce a ban on the use of wild animals in travelling circuses in England from December 1, 2015.
The draft Wild Animals in Circuses Bill was published by Defra on April 16. In a supporting written ministerial statement, David Heath, the minister for agriculture and food, said that the Bill fulfilled the Government's commitment to publish draft legislation setting out a ban on the use of wild animals in travelling circuses during the current parliamentary session.
