A VETERINARY surgeon has been severely reprimanded and warned as to his future conduct by the RCVS Disciplinary Committee after it found him guilty of serious professional misconduct in relation to his handling of an emergency case.
Following a three-day hearing ending on March 20, the committee found that Marcus Kutschera, of the South London Emergency Veterinary Centre, Streatham, had failed to make sufficient inquiries about the location or condition of a cat; unreasonably refused to provide it with first aid and pain relief; and failed to provide it with adequate 24-hour emergency care.
