ALMOST three million people in Syria are in need of assistance with food, crops and livestock, according to a recent assessment carried out by the United Nations (UN) and the Syrian government.
In June, the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), its World Food Programme and Syria's Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform conducted a joint assessment of the food security needs in Syria.
