SCHMALLENBERG virus (SBV) is still circulating in the UK as the 2012 midge season reaches its peak.
This is the conclusion drawn by researchers at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and the Institute for Animal Health (IAH) following tests on cattle and sheep that were negative for antibodies to the virus earlier this year, but which have since tested positive.
