A ‘SMALL but increasingly significant problem’ of injuries caused by exotic animals is highlighted in a recent paper in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Clifford Warwick and Catrina Steedman examined data recorded in the NHS Health Episode Statistics for England between 2004 and 2010 and found that exotic pet injuries resulted in an average of over 300 hospitalisation days per year in England alone.
