Supporting better diagnosis of cattle diseases in sub-Saharan Africa

A LOW-COST diagnostic decision support tool could help improve the practice of veterinary and animal health officers in sub-Saharan Africa, according to research carried out by Bristol veterinary school.

An international team of researchers, led by Mark Eisler, chair in global farm animal health at the School of Veterinary Sciences at Bristol university, evaluated the effectiveness of the tool as a diagnostic aid by observing whether its use by veterinary and animal health officers undertaking primary animal health care in Uganda could lead to changes in clinical practice.
