Researchers suggests that a universal flu vaccine may be possible

WHAT is being described as ‘an important step towards a universal vaccine against avian influenza’ has been taken by researchers at the Jenner Institute, a collaboration between the Pirbright Institute and the University of Oxford. It is suggested that the development of a universal vaccine for poultry could help strategies, also being developed by the Jenner Institute, to prevent seasonal influenza or to control any future pandemic in human beings.
