A LICENCE allowing the control of badgers in west Somerset for the purpose of preventing the spread of bovine TB was issued by Natural England on October 4. This is the second licence to be issued by the agency under Defra's plans for a pilot cull of badgers to help control bovine TB. The first licence was issued on September 17, allowing a cull in west Gloucestershire (VR, September 22, 2012, vol 171, p 285).
