IN tribute to William Alexander Scott (VR, February 4, 2012, vol 170, p 129), Brian Cox writes: Alec Scott passed away at the age of 84 at his home in Mawnan Smith, Falmouth, Cornwall, on January 24, after a period of illness.

Alec was born in 1927 in Belfast. He qualified from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1952, and took up his first post in practice in Falmouth. It was during his two years there that he met and fell in love with Anne, and in 1955 they were married.
