Tracking the spread of avian pox

Statistics from

MEMBERS of the public are being asked to help scientists track the spread of avian pox across the UK by reporting sightings of garden birds showing lesions associated with the disease.

Avian pox has been reported in Surrey, Kent and Sussex and was detected in Oxford last year by scientists from the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and the University of Oxford. There is now concern that it could have spread north to Staffordshire. …
