New partnership to develop network for companion animal disease surveillance

THE British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) has teamed up with the University of Liverpool to help develop a national disease surveillance network for companion animals.

The Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET) will build on a three-year pilot project conducted by researchers at Liverpool university to gather data on diseases in companion animals in the UK. Funding for the pilot project came to an end in August this year. The new partnership between the BSAVA and Liverpool university means that the study will now continue.
