I WAS interested to read Roger Blowey's letter about non-healing hoof lesions in dairy cows (VR, November 12, 2011, vol 169, p 534). I concur that non-healing hoof lesions, particularly necrotic toe, now far outstrip other lesions as a reason for amputating digits, in our practice at least.
