Tracking rare tigers to help in conservation
TWO extremely rare Amur (Siberian) tigers (Panthera tigris altaica) have been captured and released by an international research team, including British vet, John Lewis, director of the charity Wildlife Vets International (WVI). The team is over halfway through a two-month project searching for the even rarer Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) in a remote area of eastern Russia.
