IN tribute to Peter Middleton Cushing (VR, October 15, 2011, vol 169, p 419), Michael Pugh writes: Peter Cushing was born in Norwich into a family long involved in education and was himself schooled in the city. There, too, he lived through the war years and witnessed the destruction of much of Norwich's industrial past. Like many who shared similar experiences, he particularly remembered those occasional opportunities when bomb damage seemed beneficial to a youngster, such as the flows of melted chocolate from the blitzed Caley's factory.
