Reflections on a presidential year

WHAT has struck me most about my presidential year is the speed at which it has passed. It is this same rapid pace that is enveloping our profession and my choice of theme for the year, ‘Vets in a changing world’, seems to be more appropriate than ever.

Inevitably changes bring challenges, and there has been no shortage of these over the past 12 months. On the subject of medicines, the BVA strongly opposed plans by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) to introduce a new medicines category for extended administration (POM-EA).
