FVE and AVMA issue joint statements on ‘critical issues’ for the profession

THE Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) have collaborated to produce joint statements outlining their collective stances on what they describe as three critical issues facing veterinary medicine.

The statements cover veterinary medical education, the responsible and judicious use of antimicrobials and the role of veterinarians in promoting good animal welfare.

The statement on veterinary education discusses the importance of ensuring that graduates of veterinary schools around the world have sufficient core competencies on graduation.
