IN tribute to John Michael Green (VR, August 27, 2011, vol 169, p 234), Donald Kelly writes: Michael Green was the son of a butcher and was born in 1934 in Kildwick, North Yorkshire, from where he went to school in Keighley. He graduated from Bristol in 1957 and started his professional life immediately in general practice in Penrith. After a year, he was called back to Keighley to join the long-established practice of Campbell and Crabtree, and remained there for the rest of his working life.
