Risk of EIA for UK horses travelling to endemic areas

A RISK assessment undertaken by Defra concludes that is a ‘very low’ risk of a horse travelling from the UK for short periods to an area where equine infectious anaemia (EIA) is endemic, becoming infected, returning to the UK and being responsible for onward transmission of the disease.
