The RCVS has recently consulted on a draft code of professional conduct, giving the profession a rare opportunity to shape the future responsibilities of veterinary surgeons to their clients, their colleagues, the public, their regulatory body and, most importantly, to the animals under their care.
THE BVA has been encouraging its members to contribute their thoughts on the draft code, and has received detailed input from members of its standing committees – the Veterinary Policy Group, Members' Services Group and Ethics and Welfare Group – with particular focus on the areas of the code that relate most closely to their remit.
