Disciplinary Committee dismisses fraudulent registration charges

Statistics from

CHARGES of fraudulent registration against a Spanish veterinarian were dismissed by the RCVS Disciplinary Committee following a two-day hearing on May 18 and 19.

The committee concluded that the RCVS had failed to prove that Maria Becerra Parga had fraudulently entered her name on the RCVS Register by knowingly submitting a forged certificate of good standing in support of her application for membership of the RCVS.

Miss Becerra Parga, a 2003 graduate of the University of Santiago veterinary school, is currently working as a locum small animal practitioner in London. She came to the UK in October 2005 after being offered a job as a meat inspector.
