OIE declares rinderpest eradicated

THE final declaration confirming that rinderpest has been eradicated moved a step closer on May 25 when members of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) unanimously adopted a resolution recognising that all 198 countries and territories in the world that have rinderpest-susceptible animals are now free of the disease.
