Veterinary medicines: product update

The following information has been produced for Veterinary Record by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) to provide an update for veterinary surgeons on recent changes to marketing authorisations for veterinary medicines in the UK.

THE points below highlight changes in marketing authorisations that may have a significant impact on veterinary surgeons' prescribing decisions.

New marketing authorisations

The following new marketing authorisations have been approved during February 2011. There were no new products authorised in this period containing active substances not previously included in authorised veterinary medicinal products in the UK.

  • Activyl 100 mg spot-on solution for very small dogs.

  • Fiprocat 50 mg spot-on solution for cats.

  • Fiprodog 67 mg spot-on solution for small dogs.

  • Fiprodog 134 mg spot-on solution for medium dogs.
