Abstract

The Rooker prize, which recognises outstanding contributions to veterinary science through research into the understanding, prevention or treatment of livestock diseases, was presented for the first time at this year's Veterinary Laboratories Agency conference, held at the Royal Holloway College, University of London, from September 2 to 4. In a lecture entitled ‘The antennae, shoot the antennae! The role of entomology during arboviral outbreaks’, the winner, Simon Carpenter, put his research into context
