ASSOCIATION OF VETERINARY STUDENTS
Students get to grips with camelids, ferrets and other ‘exotics’
  1. Arianwen Morris

Abstract

‘Exotics in general practice’ was the theme of this year's Association of Veterinary Students (AVS) congress, held in Cambridge from February 6 to 8. The theme was chosen after a number of vet school representatives on the AVS committee expressed concern that many students graduate with insufficient practical knowledge of exotic species, which are being seen with increasing frequency by UK practices. To complement the lecture programme, a series of practical demonstrations and workshops helped the students get some hands-on experience.
