PETS or pests? Facing the future of pet travel
Abstract
This year's BSAVA Congress was held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham from April 2 to 5. With delegate numbers up on 2008, and the sun shining brightly, the scene was set for a packed four days of CPD, delivered by over 100 speakers. A number of additional sessions accompanied the scientific programme, on issues as diverse as veterinary practice economics during the current downturn, the breeding of pedigree dogs, the new medicines inspections for practices, and the future of pet travel after the end of the UK's derogation from current EU rules. As usual, an extensive commercial exhibition, held in the nearby National Indoor Arena (pictured right), and a lively social programme added to the congress experience.
