Brucellosis collection scheme
The news item ‘Aborted fetus collection scheme trialled in Northern Ireland’ (VR, October 18, 2008, vol 163, p 464), incorrectly reported that aborted materials would be tested for brucellosis before disposal. The dam will be serologically tested as soon as possible after the abortion is reported and again at 21 days after abortion. The aborted material itself will be collected and disposed of free of charge but will not be tested. The error is regretted.
